I started looking at animated poems for inspiration and first found The Dead, written by Billy Collins and animated by Juan Delcan. I like the fluidity of the animation and the change in perspectives and depth and I think that this style matches not only the content of the poem itself, but the way that the poem is spoken; in short but impactful pulses. Another feature of this film that I like is the transformation of the elements in the animation. It keeps the film feeling rhythmic and interesting. I would like to try to implicate the strong visuals of growth that this animation has into my own work.
