Animated Poetry Research 5

"The Fool" written by Leopold Von Seckendorff and animated by Elliott George Edwards. Watching 'The Fool', I felt as if the writing was more compelling than the animation, which I felt was lazy and stiff. There is very little animation actually happening, with many of the shots just being two frames creating the illusion of movement in a still shot. I liked the effect that the lined paper created, grounding the animation. The narration had an interesting tone, and I think that it provided a dark but interesting feeling. The imagery of the animation was a literal translation from words to drawing, and I think that it added to the tone of surrealism, rather than describing the feelings with images, it remained obscure imagery.
